The Durango area has considerable market appeal. Formerly a humble mining town founded in 1880, Durango, Colorado has become a world class destination. The town is a year-round hub for outdoor sports enthusiasts, especially for those interested in cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, world class fly fishing and hunting, and finally camping and hiking in 40 national and state parks nearby.
